My family found a new go-to option for dinner when we don’t have dinner plans. The ready-to-grill Shrimp Boil from Coral Reef Seafood in Osage Beach is a breeze to make, delicious, and easy on the wallet too!
Grab one of the Shrimp Boil containers from Coral Reef’s freezers. At just over $30, it feels like a steal for feeding a handful of folks. Take a peek inside: huge gulf shrimp, thick slices of Andouille sausage, two sections of corn, plentiful potatoes, and lots of seasoning!
Want more of a particular ingredient? Need some custom ingredients for a larger group? Coral Reef can quickly prep a custom boil — whether it’s shrimp, crab, or lobster tail, and in a double-size pan — and have it ready when you need to pick it up.
Our shrimp boil stayed in the freezer as we moved through a few nights’ worth of dinner plans, until we came to an evening where there were none. These are the evenings where the Shrimp Boil shines.

Here’s all I had to do (and so, all you have to do), for a delicious seafood dinner:
1) Pick up a 6-back of beer on the way home — Boulevard Pale Ale or Wheat, if you want to be a good Missourian.
2) Grab 2 of the beers and the Shrimp Boil foil container, and head out to the grill.
3) Fire up the grill
— For gas grills, set it on medium-low heat.
— For charcoal grills… well, you clearly like doing things the hard way, so you’ll figure it out — just make it pretty hot but not insanely hot.
4) Pour one beer into the Shrimp Boil foil container. Crack open the other one as a reward for your hard work.
5) Close the container (doesn’t have to be perfect — a little steam escaping is not a bad thing) and set it on the grill.
6) Check it after 25 minutes. If the potatoes are fork-ready, it’s all done.
7) Pull it off the grill, and serve!
The whole process was so darn easy, and we just tossed a salad to go with it, using some of our cherry tomatoes and peppers from the garden. It was an excellent complement to the meal.
Really, everything was wonderful, and my crew feasted until there was nothing left. Even my wife approved: a true Carolina girl who’s had her fair share of shrimp boils. In deep-south South Carolina, they call this a Low Country Boil or Frogmore Stew — named for a region, not an amphibian — and it’s a go-to for parties.
What stood out:
-The shrimp… really nice sized shrimp!
-The sausage… so spicy, so delicious!
-The simplicity… when the only prep requires opening a bottle of beer, that’s next-level convenience.
A few final thoughts:
-You could cook this thawed, too, but frozen worked just fine.
-This would also cook great in the oven, if you’d rather. Directions are on the label.
-One foil container will feed 2-4 people, depending on how hungry everyone is. Know your crew — if they’re extra hungry, or you’ve got a lot of corn fanatics, tell the Coral Reef staff and they’ll customize your boil before you check out.
-You can grab a fork, but it’s really just a formality. This is a hands-on kind of meal!
-You’ll need to shell the shrimp after cooking (don’t do it before, or you’ll risk losing flavor and tenderness)
-It’s wonderfully seasoned, but I’m a heavy-salt guy, so I wanted a little more salt. Most folks will probably find it’s just right.
