There are indoor and outdoor areas to eat, including a pool with a swim up bar, a tiki bar with additional seating that provides a Lake view, and multiple seating areas that overlook the pool and waterfront. Home to the Lake’s only poolside sushi bar, Backwater Jack’s has a full sushi menu available April through September, making it the perfect choice for poolside dining.

Here a few menu items you may want to try on your next visit:

The Jackson

This creamy, savory roll combines crab, avocado, cucumber and spicy tuna, topped with a drizzle of spicy mayo and black sesame seeds, and teriyaki sauce for dipping adds an umami element.

Double Crunch Shrimp

If cooked sushi is more suited to your tastes, then this is a must try. Lightly fried shrimp tempura, cream cheese, crab mix and spinach, with tempura flakes and wasabi aioli garnish, this roll packs a play of textures and flavors – creamy, crunchy and spicy – into one bite.

Madre de Dragon

A roll that’s as fun to say as it is visually stunning and delicious. Spicy tuna, cucumber and pickled ginger make up the filling, while thinly sliced avocado, wasabi aioli and sriracha adorn the top, keeping the heat level moderate.

Summer Spring Roll

A newer menu item made with cooked shrimp and crab, plus lettuce and assorted vegetables that add just the right crunch and freshness. Don’t pass up the peanut dipping sauce, which gives a tangy, savory finishing flavor.

Beyond Sushi…

Crunchy B

Brussels sprouts are having a moment, it seems, as this once overlooked vegetable has made its way to restaurant menus everywhere. The Crunchy B features halved, deep fried Brussels sprouts dressed in a velvety peanut sauce that elevates the slightly sweet, nuttiness of the Brussels sprouts, topped with crispy peanut bits.

Seaweed Salad

This light and refreshing salad is an ideal choice on a hot day. Ribbons of thinly sliced seaweed are tossed in an Asian-style vinaigrette and gets a bit of crunch from the sesame seeds and tempura flake toppings.

Amazing Fried Potato Salad

Don’t sleep on this menu item! Cubed seasoned potatoes are fried and tossed in a creamy herb flavored sauce. The result? A highly addictive side that’s large enough to share, but tastes so good, you probably won’t.

Of course, sitting outside is always a little more enjoyable with a cocktail in hand. Try the house drink at Backwater Jack’s with a saucy name. The Pain in the A$$ is a blend of handmade piña colada and rum runner, and comes with the option of adding a floater to give your drink an extra punch.

Piña Colada

Another drink that will keep you cool and refreshed is the piña colada, it’s handmade and the pineapple and coconut flavors are perfectly balanced.

Mudslide

The mudslide is a classic cocktail for good reason and this Backwater Jack’s cocktail contains just the right amount of chocolate and is blended with ice cream, making it the cool, creamy treat you’ll want to sip on poolside.
