Lake of the Ozarks' water level is managed by Ameren through releases from Bagnell Dam and coordination with the Army Corps of Engineers, which controls inflows into the Lake from Truman Dam.
The water level is measured in feet above sea level.
Ameren targets a water level of 659.5 – 660 feet (above sea level) during the boating season — typically from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Then the utility company draws down the Lake in the winter, typically to about 654 feet, in anticipation of spring rains.
