LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — Miles of boats tie-up Shootout Saturday along the race course in a flotilla several rows deep to enjoy a day of boat racing and festivities.
Racing starts at 8:30 a.m., Saturday, with a morning No-Wake Zone from the 31MM-36MM beginning at 8 a.m., both Saturday and Sunday.
As boaters travel home from the Shootout on Saturday, there's a huge factor – the 10-mile No-Wake Zone.

When the race ends, most boaters head in one direction on the way back: so years ago the Missouri State Highway Patrol implemented an Extended No-Wake rule for the latter half of the day on Shootout Saturday.
The Extended No-Wake Zone is in effect from 3-7 p.m., starting at the 31MM downstream to the 21 MM. Yep, that's 10 miles.
Now, if you're thinking about disconnecting from the flotilla at 2 p.m., Saturday, to beat the no-wake zone at 3 p.m., you had best not be part of the main flotilla along the course. Don't be that guy (or girl)! It's a party foul.
No-Wake Zone:
- Saturday, August 24: 31MM-36MM, 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
- Saturday, August 24: 21MM-31MM, 3-7 p.m.
- Sunday, August 25: 31MM-36MM, 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
