For 10 years NautiFish Rum Bar has brought a taste of island life to Lake of the Ozarks. A perfect complement to a carefree summer day, tucked in the Niangua Arm at the 3 Mile Marker, NautiFish offers an enticing menu.
Beachy music plays throughout the blue-and-yellow building offering Lake views from inside or on the patio. The staff provides excellent service, and the fun culture of the place comes through in the customer experience.
Every year the menu gets an update to try new things and cater to the Lake. “We have a good chef down there, and we want to be different,” owner Rob Shields said. (NautiFish fans need not worry, the restaurant’s signature drinks and dishes are here to stay.)
Whether you go for the casual atmosphere or for the beach vibes, you’re sure to be satisfied at this waterfront restaurant. Deals throughout the week include $1 cocktail shrimp on Mondays, Wing Wednesday, and $5 cheeseburgers on Thursdays.
Here a couple items to keep in mind for your next visit:
To Eat
Loverboy’s Lobster Rangoon
That’s right rangoon: crab is out, lobster is in. Crunchy wontons are stuffed with a creamy lobster filling and plated with lettuce and lemon. For your tastebuds to truly benefit, dip the rangoon in a sweet thai chili for a little kick!
Troublemaker
A juicy cheeseburger consisting of three patties topped with buffalo-tossed garlic cheese curds and applewood smoked bacon. This big boy has been around since the restaurant opened and is served with seasoned shoestring fries plus lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle on the side. A test of your appetite, this burger is the right kind of trouble.
Baja Shrimp Tacos
Seasoned grilled shrimp garnished with lettuce, pico, cheese, and a house-made sauce. Salty and crisp chips with white queso complement the cantina flavors. The thicker soft shell tortillas help hold the tacos’ shape while the chipotle-based sauce drizzled on top brings some heat.
To Drink
Nauti-rita
A twist on a classic drink. Get a taste from south of the border with this bright blue margarita made with gold tequila and a secret little Nauti something. Salted rim and lime garnish included, of course.
Aqua de NautiFish
Six house-infused rums topped off with juice. This fruity cocktail is a top seller for good reason. It’s been on the menu from the start with its perfect amount of sweetness.
Shark Bite
Swimmers beware! Sixty-four ounces of mixed rums and liqueurs sipped from a fishbowl. This one’s to share. The island and fruity flavors are delicious, but what sells this drink is the little show. Red grenadine is poured into a bowl of bluish liquid, slowly spreading as if it were blood in the water from a shark bite. (Swimmers beware!) There’s a lot here, and it’s meant to be enjoyed with a friend or three.
Originally inspired by the British Virgin Islands, you can enjoy nautical themes and anchor down for some tasty food. Meals burst with flavor, drinks satisfy your thirst, and staff provide good energy for friends and family to enjoy.
