Carter's Leaving Osage Beach Outlet Mall, Joining Two New Retailers Next To Old Navy

OSAGE BEACH, Mo. — The children's apparel store Carter's will be leaving the Osage Beach Outlet Mall and moving into the new retail space under construction at Prewitt's Point Shopping Center.

The new retail space is adjacent to Old Navy, which opened in the summer of 2020. According to Andy Prewitt, spokesperson for Prewitt's Point, the retailers coming into that space are:

• A combination Carter's/OshKosh B'Gosh store

• Mattress Firm

Carter's will be the latest in a long string of exits from the outlet mall, which has been in decline for a decade with the last few years seeing the vast majority of retailers depart. Most of the mall now sits empty.

However, an investor group including local developer Gary Prewitt — who developed Prewitt's Point and Eagle's Landing Shopping Center and also owns multiple waterfront restaurant venues at the Lake — has the mall under contract. The group says they plan to redevelop the mall to include family-friendly entertainment options.
