Jesse DeVore

CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. — A Camdenton R-III School District janitor, accused of exposing himself to children at Camdenton’s Oakridge Elementary school, is now facing additional charges of Sexual Misconduct with a child under 15.

Jesse Devore, 30, of Sunrise Beach was charged with two new counts of Sexual Misconduct going back as far as 2013. Devore is accused of incidents that allegedly occurred in the Camdenton Walmart parking lot and bathroom in 2013 as well as a juvenile victim’s driveway in 2015, according to the probable cause document.

The document reveals Devore also admitted to police that the person in the Walmart parking lot and entering the bathroom was him, saying he’d been drinking a lot and did not remember anything from that day. Devore’s father also reportedly confirmed that it was his son in the security footage.

Both the 2013 and 2015 incidents had been reported and investigated shortly after they occurred, but Devore was not charged. Camden Prosecutor Caleb Cunningham told LakeExpo the prosecutor's office did not receive a probable cause document for those incidents at the time. Devore went on to work at Camdenton's schools, where authorities say he committed more sex-related crimes.

Devore had been previously charged with four felonies in April of 2019 after allegedly masturbating in front of multiple children in the bathroom at Oakridge Elementary school where he was a janitor.

That case has been moved to Laclede County on a change-of-venue request, and Cunningham explained the original charges were dropped and then refiled last week in addition to the two new charges, to make all six charges part of the same case.

Devore is being held without bond in Laclede County.
