LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — October felt like July on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at the Lake. The National Weather Service says temperatures reached into the low 90s — around 92 degrees by 2 p.m., with some areas reporting temps as high as 94.
The previous record for Oct. 13 was 90 degrees.
Thankfully, after the sweltering heat, much-needed rain and cooler temps are on the horizon. The NWS says rain is likely Tuesday night through Thursday, with daytime temps landing in the mid-60s by the weekend.
