A fire Wednesday afternoon destroyed a home in Linn Creek near Flower Pot Cove, around the 9 Mile Marker of the Grand Glaize Arm.
Crews with the Osage Beach Fire Protection District arrived at 1:56 p.m. Oct. 7 to find the single-family home on Glenmeadows Lane about 75% involved in flames. An outbuilding was also fully engulfed.
Firefighters had to establish a water supply at a nearby boat ramp, delaying suppression efforts. Lake Ozark Fire Protection District and Mid-County Fire Protection District provided mutual aid.
According to OBFPD, the resident had been grinding and cutting steel behind the home before leaving to get bolts for a dock project. A neighbor later called to tell the resident about the fire.
The home was considered a total loss. Two nearby structures were also damaged, and one passenger vehicle was lost in the fire.
One civilian suffered minor injuries.
Firefighters cleared the scene around 5 p.m.
