CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. — Two vehicles collided during a rainy Monday morning on Highway 54, tragically killing a 30-year-old woman from Macks Creek.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the woman was driving a Hyundai Sonata on Hwy 54 shortly after 8 a.m. when it began to hydroplane. The vehicle spun, crossing the center of the roadway before hitting a Chevrolet GMT-400 near Route AA, according to the Patrol.

The Sonata continued off the left side of the road and hit a guardrail, the MSHP reported.

A Camden County Medical Examiner pronounced the woman deceased at the scene at 9:14 a.m., May 18. She was transported to Allee Holman-Howe Funeral Home.

The other driver, a 39-year-old man from Roach, was seriously injured in the crash. Mercy Ambulance transported him to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment.

Both vehicles were totaled and towed by Bledsoe's Towing.

This is Troop F's third fatality for May, and the 20th for the year. The Camden County Sheriff's Office also assisted at the scene.
