LAURIE, Mo. — A new, upscale apartment complex is planned for construction in Laurie, with work set to begin this summer.
Park Place Apartments will be built on Route O. Owner Scott Hendrix plans to build upscale apartments in a park-like setting on the 80.33-acre former Hibdon Farm, complete with stocked fishing ponds.
“They will be quality-built, more like a home than cheap ‘thrown-up’ apartments,” Hendrix said, adding, “We plan to use premium building materials.” Hendrix plans to build 20 units in phases, as needed.
The Park Place apartments will be adjacent to the Laurie Park and have full access to park amenities including a walking trail, swimming pool, frisbee golf, pickle ball, and multiple year-round events.
According to Hendrix, the plan is to build a few one-bedroom apartments, but most will be two- and three-bedroom, some with a private garage. They will announce how to apply for residency later in the year.
“We are happy to be able to help with the need for affordable housing,” Hendrix said.
Hendrix owns Superior Excavating and Construction and did the work several years ago on the 20-unit Westside Flats Apartments, also located on Route O in Laurie.
