CAMDENTON, Mo. — Two apartment complexes are planning to start construction in Camdenton this year after owners agreed to keep rent levels affordable in exchange for tax abatements.
Camdenton City Administrator Jeff Hooker reported in a Board of Alderman meeting Jan. 2 that construction is moving forward on the promise that apartments are affordable for workforce housing.
“The need for housing in the Lake area is great, especially housing for those working directly in the area and in the service industry," said Hooker. "If both complexes are completed, then it would add approximately 185-200 apartments directly in the city.”
The City owns the property for one complex, located on Titus Street. According to Hooker, the contractor hopes to start building in late summer or early fall of 2024. The project entails a 138-unit apartment complex with a pool and clubhouse.
