Otto Construction's new office is located just off Highway 54 on the doorstep to Lake of the Ozarks at 3 Riley Mead Lane, Unit 3B, Eldon, MO 65026.

Owner Tony Otto fondly recalls the beginnings of the family’s connection to the area. His parents moved to the Lake in 1991, and his father Bob started a handyman service, doing a variety of jobs people needed done.

"He had a great reputation of always showing up and doing a good job," Otto said, remembering how he and his brother Shaun joked for years about moving to the Lake too. Eventually, they did. "Otto Construction started in August 2003 with Dad, Shaun, and I all working together."

The family initially focused on small custom remodels and room additions, always emphasizing quality work at a fair price. While the projects have gotten larger, the goal has remained the same.

"We put everything we can into each of our projects because the customers deserve that, and hopefully expect that," Otto said. "They are trusting us to build their dreams, and it is our responsibility to do the very best we can for them."

Over the years, their dedication to professionalism, punctuality, and customer service led to steady growth, expanding their team from just the family to nearly 30 employees today.

"Tony's a good owner that takes care of his employees. You're not going to find a better contractor," said sales consultant James O'Neal, who's been with the company for over 10 years. "The employees self-perform much of the work, which allows us to maintain higher standards of craftsmanship."

"When a company gets bigger, organization is imperative to keep up with your growth," O'Neal remarked. "You can't get bigger unless you get better."

What truly sets Otto Construction apart is their unwavering commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. "When it comes down to it," O'Neal said, "we have a team who listens to our clients wants and needs to provide a great plan for their project."

Their approach to custom homes is summed up by Otto's coined phrase: “From dirt to keys.”

"We meet at the house, or at the land a client is thing about buying, talk through their wants and needs, and develop a preliminary budget." O'Neal emphasized that the company works to provide an accurate bid from the start, which minimizes unexpected changes down the road. “We believe the best time to know what something is going to cost is before you buy it.”

Communication is key, especially for homeowners who may not be nearby during construction. O’Neal explained that the company uses software to keep homeowners updated on progress, including daily logs from the onsite supervisor, production schedules, and photos.

"This puts clients at ease, to know there's somebody on the other end that's available anytime they need us," O'Neal said.
