Nicky Joe Williams Obituary
Loving Memory of Nicky Joe Williams
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Nicky Joe Williams, who departed this life on October 24, 2026 at the age of 82, 9 months and a day.
Nicky was born on January 23, 1944, in Linn Creek Missouri to the late Norris and Ruby (Walters) Williams. On October 14, 1970, he married the love of his life, Glenna Krahl. Their nearly 56-year marriage was built on a foundation of love, devotion, and unwavering commitment to one another. Together, they created a beautiful life and were blessed with two sons, who became an important part of their shared journey.
A proud patriot, Nicky honorably served three years in the United States Army. Following his military service, he returned home to Linn Creek, where he worked alongside his father at the family Sawmill. He later began a long and dedicated career with UPS, where he spent 27 years behind the wheel. After retiring, Nicky turned his attention to one of his greatest joys: farm life, where he found peace and fulfillment in the simple rewards of hard work and time spent outdoors.
Above all else, Nicky was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and family man. He loved his family fiercely and took great pride in protecting and providing for those he loved. A man of quiet strength, unwavering integrity, and simple pleasures. Nicky was happiest when he was out at the barn, relaxing with XM radio playing in the background, or working on one of his many projects. His most recent endeavor was refurbishing the cabin he built alongside his boys- a place filled with memories, hard work and love that will live on for generations.
Nicky had a lifelong love of bluegrass music, camping beneath the open sky, and spending precious time with his family. He was a faithful, longtime member of Linn Creek Methodist Church. He was a proud patriot and outspoken republican, who was never one to hide what he believed in.
To his family, Nicky was a protector, a steady presence, and a source of unwavering strength.
To his grandchildren, he was simply “Pops” - a name he carried with immense pride and a role he cherished with all his heart.
The memories he created, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave will remain with his family forever.
Nicky leaves behind his beloved wife of nearly 65 years, Glenna Williams; his older brother Harold Eugene Williams; his two sons, Kevin Joe Williams and Cody Joe Williams; and his daughter-in-law Patricia (Lumb) Williams. His legacy also lives on through his six grandchildren: Jacob Joe Arnold, Joshua Joe Williams, Kaitlin Ann (Lumb) Clauson, Logan Joe Williams, Khloe Nicole Williams, Mason Dale Williams, all who will deeply miss their beloved Pops.
Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort in knowing that Nicky’s life was filled with love, purpose, hard work, and the people who meant the most to him. His legacy will live on through the family farm, the family he cherished, the memories he leaves behind, and the countless ways he made life better for those fortunate enough to know him.
He will be deeply missed by friends and family, forever loved and never forgotten.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 7, 2026 at Linn Creek Methodist Church, Linn Creek, Missouri. Military honors to follow the service. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the church.
