LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. (20MM) — Ex-race car driver and racing announcer Dorsey Schroeder and his wife Kim have come back to run Dorsey's Pit Stop. For several years Dorsey's was a popular restaurant and bar at the 20-mile marker.

Last year, the Schroeder extended a lease and turned the restaurant over to a new owner. By mid-summer, most of the old customers stopped coming and the restaurant was later abandoned.

At the last minute, the Schroeder moved back to Missouri from their home in the south Florida Keys hoping to reopen the restaurant by Memorial Day Weekend. Although the restaurant had been left a mess, after some investment and sweat equity Dorsey's received health department and liquor license approval.

Dorsey’s officially opened with a limited menu Thursday, May 22. The bar will be open Thursday evening through Sunday.

The gas dock currently has 3,000 gallons of gas being sold for $4 a gallon.
