CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. — An Iowa motorcyclist is facing a felony DWI charge after a three-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon that injured his passenger and involved a patrol vehicle.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 4:50 p.m., Sept. 16, on southbound Highway 5 near Twin Rivers Road.

A Laurie Police Department vehicle was stopped in traffic, with a motorcycle stopped behind it. The MSHP said 64-year-old Martin A. Gall struck the motorcycle from behind, pushing it into the patrol vehicle.

Gall's Harley Davidson Street Glide then went off the road and down a steep ditch, where it overturned and ejected him and his 59-year-old passenger. The woman suffered minor injuries and was taken to Lake Regional Hospital.

According to the probable cause statement, the investigating trooper reported a strong odor of alcohol coming from Gall and said his eyes were watery, bloodshot, and glassy. Gall allegedly admitted he had been drinking at a bar. He reportedly refused field sobriety tests but later provided a breath sample that registered a 0.118% blood alcohol concentration.

Gall was arrested and taken to the Camden County Jail on a 24-hour hold. He is charged with felony DWI involving physical injury.
