Oasis at Lakeport -- Rendering March 2023

LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — The $350 million family resort and entertainment district - Oasis at Lakeport - has pushed back plans to open the amusement park in Osage Beach until 2025.

After approval was granted June 1, 2023, the original goal was to open by summer 2024. St. Louis-based SkyView Partners and Tegethoff Development, along with Big Thunder Marine, aim to create the one-of-a-kind tourist destination on Highway 54 adjacent to the Grand Glaize Bridge.

The site has been cleared, concrete pouring has begun, and things are moving quickly, but developers saw that making Memorial Day of 2024 wasn't going to happen. With a 4th of July opening looking iffy too, the date was moved to the following spring. Now, the planned open date has been moved to April of 2025, confirmed Todd Schneider, co-managing partner of SkyView Partners.

"We didn't want to open in the middle of the high season or have a partial opening," Schneider said. "It just seemed like the right thing to do. We were working really hard to hit that for the full summer of 2024, but when we realized we weren't going to catch the whole summer, that's when we decided to push it."

Schneider said the project is still full-steam ahead. The hotel and water park are on track to open in the first quarter of 2026. In the next couple months, there will also be an announcement about signature tenets that'll be located within the development.

"Opening in April 2025 will give us good momentum that whole first year, culminating with the opening of the hotel and water park," Schneider said.
