LAKE OZARK, Mo. — The Eagles Landing development in Lake Ozark, first opened in 2012, has seen no new stores for several years. But two big announcements in 2021 are sure to bring more traffic to the large retail center: Casey's General Store and Aldi.
Aldi's plans to come to Lake Ozark were announced two years ago, and after a stall, Aldi is back in development at Eagles Landing. The Lake Ozark Planning & Zoning Commission approved a site plan for an Aldi store to be located on Bus. 54 northeast of the proposed area for Casey’s. The store would be located on Bus. 54 and Kestrel Lane.
“The Lake economy helped a lot. I think they looked and decided they wanted to be here. I think before they were just lukewarm on the market,” said Andy Prewitt, spokesman for Eagles Landing.
The Aldi’s development is still in very early stages, but Prewitt hopes construction will begin in the fall of this year, for the grocery store to open in the spring of 2022.
The new Casey’s location has been going up quickly, and Prewitt says that they are currently on track to be finished by September. And as for the future of Eagles Landing, Prewitt had this to say:
“I think there'll be a few more coming real quick after it becomes official with Aldi. I think that helps when you have the anchor of a grocery store. Then you get a lot more tenants and they’re already talking to us.”
Prewitt couldn’t speak on what businesses were showing interest in coming to Eagles Landing but said several were restaurants.
“I’m just glad to see the Lake going strong,” Prewitt ended.
