LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — Residents may want to protect plants and outdoor plumbing Friday night as the first widespread freeze of the season settles into central Missouri.

The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning for Camden, Miller, and Morgan counties from midnight Friday through 8 a.m. Saturday. The warning also covers several surrounding counties across central and southern Missouri.

Temperatures are expected to fall into the upper 20s and lower 30s across the area, including Camdenton, Osage Beach, Lake Ozark, Eldon, Versailles, Laurie, and the Village of Four Seasons.

The NWS says frost and freezing temperatures could kill sensitive plants and crops, and may damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

After a chilly start to the weekend, temperatures will warm to around 70 by Monday, with overnight lows generally in the 40s next week.
