LAKE OZARK, Mo. — Eagle Days returns to Lake of the Ozarks on January 4 for a day of free fun and learning about creatures living in your own backyard.

This year, Christ the King Lutheran Church and Mt Carmel Baptist Church in Lake Ozark will host live bird programs.

World Bird Sanctuary will be at Mt Carmel, which will feature two species of eagles, including a Bald Eagle, along with other birds of prey. Programs will begin on the hour starting at 9 a.m., with the last show beginning at 3 p.m.

Dickerson Park Zoo will be at Christ the King, featuring two different live bird programs. One program will feature the Bald Eagle and the other program showcases owls of Missouri. Programs will alternate beginning on the half hour starting at 9:30 a.m., with the last show beginning at 3:30 p.m.

Nature related organizations and vendors will be back at Christ the King too, along with the popular coloring contest for the kiddos ages 2–12. Coloring pages can be downloaded and submitted at the event, emailed in, or completed and turned in during the event. One winner in each age category will receive a family pass to Bridal Cave.

Entries for the amateur photo contest, ages 13 and up, can be submitted online or dropped off at the event. Dining certificates to local eateries will be awarded to the top three photos submitted. Judging will take place following the event and all the rules and regulations for both contests can be found at www.LakeoftheOzarksEagleDays.com.

Members of the Missouri Master Naturalist – Lake of the Ozarks Chapter plan to set up below Bagnell Dam at the Osage River access, offering scoped views of eagles in action. Willmore Lodge is also a viewing spot, as young and mature eagles hunt year-round near the dam's Lake side. For the best experience, bring your own binoculars to catch these majestic birds up close.
