Police Unity Tour

Enjoy beer and brats while honoring law enforcement who have died in the line of duty. The Police Unity Tour's Beer & Brats For Cops event is Saturday, Nov 17 at 1 p.m. at the Four Seasons POA Community Center on Horseshoe Bend just across from The Cove Golf Course.

Beers and brats await you, of course, as well as a live auction with fabulous donations from local business in the Lake area, as well as a chance to meet two of the officers who have been riding in this annual event for the past six years. These men give their time and energy to ride (it’s a bicycle ride, not motorcycle ride) for three days from Richmond, Virginia to the Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial in Washington, DC. This year there are an impressive number of riders, with more than 2500 coming from all around the country. The event also raises funds for the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial and Museum. To date, the Police Unity Tour has donated nearly 23 million dollars to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door.

The Police Unity Tour began in May 1997, when Officer Patrick P. Montuore of the Florham Park Police Department organized it to bring public awareness of police officers who had died in the line of duty and to honor their sacrifices. What started with 18 riders on a four day fund-raising bicycle ride from Florham Park, NJ to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. has grown into nine chapters consisting of nearly 2500 members nationwide who make the trip annually.
