CAMDENTON, Mo. — Crews are busy at work, as the retail development at the corner of Highway 54 and Highway 5 takes shape in Camdenton. Currently the site of Kwik Kar — completed in 2022 — the retail area will see the opening of two new restaurants this spring: Culver’s and Scooter’s Coffee.

The Camdenton Culver's will be one of the 42 current and upcoming Culver’s locations in Missouri. According to Camdenton City Administrator Jeff Hooker, the restaurant will be 4,300 square feet with a double drive-through and room for bus parking. The total cost of the project is expected to be between $4–5 million.

The Wisconsin-based burger chain began in 1984 and is known for frozen custard, cheese curds and the Culver’s Butter burger. The grand opening is anticipated for early May.

The Scooter's Coffee location will be located across Jack Crow Road but on the same side of Highway 54 as the upcoming Culver's. Scooters began in Nebraska and is best known for their sweet and unique coffee flavors and for including a smiley sticker with each drink.

According to Hooker, the layout of the Camdenton location is the same as the Scooter’s Coffee in Osage Beach. The coffee drive-through is expected to be open in mid-May.
