Chuck Humphrey Obituary
Charles Eugene “Chuck” Humphrey, age 61, went to meet his Lord, December 25, 2024. He was born September 14, 1963 to Stella L. Conner and Charles Gene Humphrey of Versailles, Missouri. After the death of Charles, Stella married Guido Hibdon. Chuck always considered Guido to be his father.
On March 31, 1989, Chuck was wed in Holy Matrimony to his beloved wife, Marla D. Lacy. They spent the last 35 ½ years enjoying life together. From this marriage came three children.
Chuck spent most of his youth outdoors, either fishing or hunting with his dad and brother. Chuck was active in Boy Scouts of America. He served as Assistant Scoutmaster and Scoutmaster for Troop 138 in Laurie, Missouri. He was a graduate of the Great Rivers Council Wood Badge program. For years, he helped with district events for the Kinderhook District. He worked for seven summers at Lake of the Ozarks Scout Reservation in Laurie. His pride and joy were his grandchildren. He was happy to be their babysitter and loved spending time with them.
He is survived by his wife, Marla of the home; three children, Mathew Humphrey of Nixa, Missouri, Nicholas Humphrey of the home and Hayley Purington and husband Kenny of Versailles, Missouri; three grandchildren, Lizzie, Brendalynn and Charles; sister, Dotty Herring and husband Dale of Pell City, Alabama; Dion Hibdon and wife Amy of Versailles, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Humphrey; stepfather and mother, Guido and Stella Hibdon and brother-in-law, Jason Lacy.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 27th, 2024 at Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Compassus.
