James Mark

CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. — A Lake Ozark man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for a shooting in the Village of Four Seasons two years ago.

Court records show 33-year-old James C. Mark pleaded guilty on Aug. 11 to first-degree assault and armed criminal action. He received a 15-year sentence for the assault charge and a 10-year sentence for armed criminal action. Both sentences will run consecutively, and as a prior offender, Mark must serve 85% of his time on the assault charge before becoming eligible for parole.

The charges stem from an incident on March 27, 2023, when Camden County deputies responded to an apartment complex on Scarsdale Circle and found a man with a gunshot wound to the chest. Investigators later identified Mark as the suspect, and after a manhunt, he was arrested without incident near Horseshoe Bend.

Mark was booked into the Camden County Adult Detention Facility following his arrest and has remained in custody since.
