CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. — Spring weather brought motorcyclists out to Lake area roads last weekend, but not all bikers ended the weekend unscathed. Two crashes left two men hospitalized, one with serious injuries, according to the Highway Patrol.

The Patrol says at some point on Saturday, 20-year-old Bryentt Diltz, of Ballwin, Mo., was driving a 2018 Harley Davidson north on Old Missouri Highway 5 when the motorcycle went off the right side of the road. Diltz reportedly overcorrected, came back onto the road, and then the motorcycle overturned, throwing him from it. The new Harley was totaled, and Diltz was initially taken to Lake Regional Hospital by private conveyance, but he was life-flighted from there to University Hospital, with serious injuries.

The Patrol says they are still investigating that incident, and the time of the crash is unknown.

Also on Saturday, 59-year-old Brian Paul, of Camdenton, was injured in a motorcycle crash. According to the MSHP, Paul was driving a 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle north on Route V when he lost control on a curve, around 3:20 p.m. The motorcycle crashed off the right side of the road and Paul was thrown from it. He sustained moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment.
