CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. — A Linn Creek man was flown to treatment on Monday night after authorities say he fell out of a truck whose door malfunctioned during a U-turn.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 25-year-old Chadrick Byler was driving a 1997 Dodge 2500 truck east on Anderson Hollow Road at around 8:10 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 6. Byler was making a U-turn at the intersection with East Shivers Road when the “passenger door failed and opened,” according to the MSHP report. As a result, 76-year-old Bentley Byler—who was not wearing a seat belt—fell out of the truck onto the road.
Byler sustained serious injuries and was flown by Mercy Life Line helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.
