MORGAN COUNTY, Mo. — A chain-collision on Highway 52 landed a 19-year-old in the hospital with serious injuries and totaled two vehicles, Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 19-year-old Halle Randall, of Versailles, was driving a 2007 Chrysler Sebring westbound on Highway 52, two miles west of the Highway 135 junction, when she approached a line of westbound vehicles that were stopped in the road, due to construction. Randall’s vehicle reportedly hit the back of a 1998 Nissan Pathfinder, driven by 51-year-old Christopher Leclair, of Stover. The Pathfinder then hit a 2005 Ford Taurus in front of it, which hit a 1997 Ford F-250 in front of it, according to the report.

The crash occurred at 1:07 p.m. The Patrol says Randall sustained serious injuries and was flown by Staff for Life helicopter to University Hospital for treatment. Leclair had minor injuries and was taken by a private vehicle to Bothwell Hospital. No other injuries were reported by the Patrol.

The Chrysler and Nissan were totaled in the crash; the Ford Taurus had extensive damage and the Ford F-250 had minor damage.
