MORGAN COUNTY, Mo. — A man from Cleveland, Mo., was flown to the hospital early Thursday morning after a crash on Highway 5.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the 22-year-old was driving a GMC Denali shortly before 2 a.m., Nov. 5, when it went off the roadway and hit a tree south of Santa Fe Trail.

The man, who was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt, sustained serious injuries in the crash. MU Air Care transported him to University Hospital in Columbia.

Arrest records show that Sheldon Hineman, 22 of Cleveland, faces a potential charge of driving while intoxicated around the same time of the crash. He was released for medical treatment.
