OSAGE BEACH, Mo. — The City of Osage Beach is considering throw a bone to food trucks.

For decades, the city’s ordinances considered mobile food vendors to be “peddlers” and required them to pay a $500 license every year. By contrast, most other types of businesses pay around $50 for an annual business license.

But a proposed ordinance would reduce food trucks' fees. City aldermen will consider a change to city ordinance at this week’s board of aldermen meeting, in which food trucks would be charged $10 for a single-day license, $20 for up to five consecutive days, and $100 for up to six months.

The board of aldermen meeting is set for Thursday, Oct. 19 at 6 p.m., at City Hall.

The recommended change was brought to the city by the city's citizens advisory committee.
