LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — The Lake's largest marine-focused business association just announced a major change to its management structure.
The Lake of the Ozarks Marine Dealers Association (LOMDA) has officially named the Lake of the Ozarks Convention & Visitor Bureau (CVB) as its new managing organization.
"This strategic partnership marks an exciting step forward in strengthening the marine industry and enhancing the overall visitor experience at the Lake of the Ozarks," LOMDA said in a press release.
Previously, LOMDA was managed by Executive Director Leah Martin, who took the helm from former Executive Director Mike Kenagy in December 2023. In March 2026, Martin announced she was stepping down from the position and would be focusing on her roles as Director of the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout and President of the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA).
LOMDA had already been building a stronger relationship with CVB, by contracting the bureau to handle its marketing initiatives over the past year. With this expanded role, the CVB will now oversee all aspects of LOMDA operations, including event management, communications, financial oversight, and strategic planning.
LOMDA organizes four annual boat shows — the Overland Park and St. Charles Boat Shows in the winter, and the Spring and Fall In-Water Boat Shows on Lake of the Ozarks.
“We are so excited to work even closer with the Marine Dealers Association,” said Heather Brown, Executive Director of the Lake of the Ozarks Convention & Visitor Bureau. “The alignment of what both of our organizations do will only strengthen the lake community and tourism here at Lake of the Ozarks.”
The CVB was founded in 1932, and has long served as the region’s official destination marketing organization.
The Marine Dealers Association represents marine-related businesses and produces regional boat shows to support its broad membership.
"This new alignment will create stronger coordination between tourism promotion and the marine industry, allowing both organizations to work together toward shared goals of increased visitation, enhanced events, and long-term economic growth, with the combined resources and expertise expected to elevate the Lake of the Ozarks as a leading destination for boating and outdoor recreation," the group added.
