Like far too many other things, the cost to get a boat towed on Lake of the Ozarks has gotten more expensive in the past year.

The average tow cost is now around $700, according to local towboat operators. Towing rates have gone up.

Of course you hope to never need a tow, especially on busy weekends at Lake of the Ozarks, when the queue for getting a tow can be several boaters deep. Early in the summer, as boaters shake the cobwebs off their beloved vessels, it's not uncommon for something to break down... miles from the home dock.
