New $7M 'Anglers Outpost' Resort In Osage Beach Could Receive Tax Incentives

OSAGE BEACH, Mo. — The City of Osage Beach will consider whether to offer tax incentives to a resort built for fishermen.

The planned $7-million Anglers Outpost resort is designed with fishing enthusiasts in mind, and would be constructed on a nine-acre parcel near Dollar General. The planned hotel concept includes four buildings, each featuring six units with accessible parking for anglers’ boats.

On Nov. 7, the BOA passed Bill 24-69, authorizing consultants from Gilmore & Bell and Columbia Capital to evaluate a Chapter 100 incentive application for the Angler’s Outpost. Learn more about the various possible Chapter 100 incentives here.

This incentive is a financing tool used by local governments in Missouri to support development projects, particularly those that bring jobs or economic growth. It allows a city to provide tax abatements or other financial assistance to businesses in exchange for their investment in the community.

The bill lets the City cover the costs of consulting without taxpayer funds and doesn’t obligate Osage Beach to approve the incentives.

Mayor Michael Harmison highlighted the agreement as a way to secure expert input on the project.

Harmison clarified that while the City is engaging consultants, the funding agreement simply enables an in-depth review and does not signify final approval.
