Severe storms and tornadoes ripped through Missouri, killing 12 people and leaving widespread devastation across 25 counties.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed an additional fatality in St. Louis County on Saturday, bringing the toll to three in Ozark County, one in Butler County, six in Wayne County, one in Jefferson County, and one in St. Louis County.

Governor Mike Kehoe called the storms devastating, as first responders, state teams, and volunteers continue working around the clock to assess damage and aid victims. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families grieving loved ones and the impacted communities."

Missouri SEMA reports up to 19 tornadoes touched down in the state, though the exact number is still being verified.

Damage assessments include Webb Creek and Bluff View Marinas at Clearwater Lake in Reynolds County, where storms left a trail of destruction.

Meanwhile, the Lake of the Ozarks region remains under a Red Flag Warning after the weekend wildfires. The warning is in effect through 8 p.m. Monday, March 17, with strong winds, low humidity, and warm temperatures creating dangerous fire conditions.

Officials urge residents to avoid outdoor burning.
