Watching a World War II bomber soar overhead isn't something you get to experience every weekend.
Neither is seeing aerobatic pilots twist, roll, and dive through the sky while kids scramble across an airfield collecting ping pong balls for prizes.
That's exactly what awaits at the 2026 Lake of the Ozarks Air Show, returning to the Camdenton Memorial-Lake Regional Airport on Saturday, Sept. 12. Hosted by the Camdenton Area Chamber of Commerce, Bridal Cave, and the Lake Aviation Center, the annual event combines aviation history, thrilling performances, family activities, food, and local vendors into a full day of entertainment.
The gates open at 8 a.m., with aerial performances beginning at 11 a.m. after the opening ceremony. Parking at the airport is $10 per vehicle, while free off-site parking and shuttle service will be available from Camdenton Middle School. Since the event is entirely outdoors, it's recommended to bring lawn chairs or blankets for the day.
Before the aircraft take to the skies, visitors can fuel up with a pancake, egg, and sausage breakfast served by Camdenton Scout Troop 29 from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Throughout the day, food vendors, sponsor booths, and activities will line the tarmac, giving attendees plenty to explore between performances.
The flying lineup features something for nearly every aviation fan. Two L-39 Albatros aircraft are also expected to appear, and the show will feature a newly announced B-2 Spirit flyover. Kansas City's KC Flight Formation Team will demonstrate precision flying, while aerobatic pilots Brian Correll and Bob Richards bring classic Pitts biplanes through a series of loops, rolls, and low-level maneuvers.
One of the day's biggest attractions will be the Commemorative Air Force's "Show Me" B-25J Mitchell bomber. The legendary aircraft, famous for its role in the Doolittle Raid over Tokyo during World War II, will be on display throughout the event. Visitors can get an up-close look at the bomber, learn about its history, and even purchase a ride after the air show. Flights cost $425, and space is limited.
Another fan favorite returning this year is the Douglas AC-47 "Spooky," the Vietnam-era gunship that will be on static display. Guests will have the opportunity to walk around the aircraft, take photos, and learn more about its military service.
While aviation enthusiasts will have plenty to enjoy, the Air Show is just as much a family event. One of the most anticipated traditions is the Ping Pong Ball Drop, when hundreds of ping pong balls are scattered across the airfield from an airplane. Children race to collect them and exchange them for prizes, with a handful of specially marked balls redeemable for larger prizes, including day passes to Bridal Cave and SuperSplash USA.
Between the flying demonstrations, visitors can browse vendor booths, meet pilots, and take photos with many of the aircraft on display. Attendees are encouraged to stay for the entire event, as performances and activities continue throughout the afternoon until approximately 3:30 p.m.
Whether you're fascinated by military history, enjoy high-flying aerobatics, or are simply looking for a unique way to spend the day with family, the Lake of the Ozarks Air Show offers one of the most memorable events of the fall season.
