Sherman Dean Huffman Obituary

Sherman Dean Huffman, age 63, of Gravois Mills, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at his home. He was born December 28, 1961, in Sturgis, South Dakota, a son of Sherman Leroy and Bessie LaVonne (Santee) Huffman.

On December 27, 2013, in Rapid City, South Dakota, he was united in marriage to his surviving wife, Tracie L. (Keyser) Huffman.

Sherman enjoyed his rodeo days of bareback and bronc riding. He’s been an over the road truck driver for forty-two years and was currently working for Clark Transportation in Rocheport.

His favorite hobby was working on his son’s derby car and watching Dustin race. Most of all, he loved his family and especially treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his wife, Tracie, he is survived by his children, Dustin Thompson and wife Misty of Versailles, Missouri, Breonna Thompson and Brian of Monticello, New York, Myles Keyser of Versailles, Missouri and Paul Huffman and wife Sarah of Rapid City, South Dakota; seventeen grandchildren; his mother, Bessie Webb of Alabama; step-mother, Sandy Huffman of Box Elder, South Dakota; his brother, Mark Huffman of Rapid City, South Dakota; his sister, LaVonne Jeffers of Alabama and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Sherman Leroy Huffman.

There are no services planned at this time.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
