John E. DeGraffenried Sr. (September 21, 1949 - November 17, 2017)

John E. DeGraffenried, Sr., of Versailles, Missouri passed away at his home, November 17, 2017. He was born September 21, 1949 in Grain Valley, Missouri.

He was a carpenter in the Grain Valley area until moving to Versailles in 1989, where he worked for Eldon Lumber a few years before retiring. 

John is survived by his wife, Diana of the home; ten children, Brandon of the home, John E. DeGraffenried, Jr. and Frank DeGraffenried both of Orrick, Missouri, April and Richard Simmons of Versailles, Missouri, Anna and Jon Storks of San Antonio, Texas, Nathan and Twyla Bierman of Gravois Mills, Missouri, Amanda Stotz and Andy Knipp of Clarksburg, Missouri, Cory and Tihanee Stotz of Tolono, Illinois, Amber Witt and Ashley and Cole Compton all of Gravois Mills, Missouri; twenty-eight beloved grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jackie and Lisa and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandmother, Ruby Smith; a sister, Sherri; a daughter, Kristy and a grandson, Dustin all of Grain Valley, Missouri.

A family service will be held at a later date. 

Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
