Chad Alan Billington (March 22, 1972 - December 22, 2016)

Chad Alan Billington, age 44, of Gravois Mills, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016, at his home. He was born March 22, 1972, in Sedalia, a son of Jack and Joann (Zeigler) Billington.

Chad graduated from Hickman High School in Columbia.

He worked several years as a bartender for Planet Hollywood in both Chicago and Miami Beach. For the past several years, he lived at the lake and worked in marinas as a mechanic and enjoyed boating.

Chad was extremely artistic and was always happiest working with his hands. He left numerous bird houses, wood carvings and Christmas ornaments with his family to cherish.

Growing up in Columbia, Chad played soccer beginning at age five and was on several traveling teams. At Hickman High School, he was known for his wicked cross to the center forward.

He will always be remembered for his iron-clad memory, quick wit and his heart of gold. He helped neighbors, friends and even strangers when they needed groceries, lawns mowed or repairs made--always thinking of others before himself. He held a special place in his heart for his niece and nephews and loved them very much. He was a precious son, caring brother and loving uncle who will be sorely missed and forever cherished.

Chad is survived by his parents, Jack and Joann Billington; brother, Mike Billington and wife Susie, niece Maggie and nephew Porter; brother, Greg Billington and wife Liz and nephews Sam and Eliot; brother, Brett Billington and many other relatives and friends.

A celebration of Chad’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested to Paralyzed Veterans of America.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
