Beryl Routon Obituary

Beryl Jean Routon, age 78, of Barnett, Missouri, passed away Friday, March 28, 2025 at University Hospital, Columbia, Missouri. She was born December 30, 1946 in California, Missouri, a daughter of James Robert and Opal Grace (Chipley) Vaughan.

Fifty-seven years ago, she was united in marriage to Billy Gene Routon.

Beryl was raised in Versailles, Missouri and was a graduate of Morgan County R-II in the class of 1965. She worked for Gates Corporation for over thirty years. Beryl loved quarter horses and was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association. She showed many horses including several state champions.

She was a member of Big Rock Church.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Routon of the home; a brother, James Vaughan and wife Karen of Marion, Kentucky and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bill Vaughan and Jerry Vaughan.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Big Rock Church. Burial will follow in Greemore Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 p.m., Tuesday at the church.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Big Rock Church.
