JEFFERSON CITY • A campaign finance complaint against Democratic gubernatorial candidate Chris Koster has been dismissed by state regulators.

A day after the Missouri Ethics Commission dismissed two complaints against Koster’s Republican rival, former Navy SEAL Eric Greitens, the panel followed suit in a case involving more than $1 million in contributions from the Jobs and Opportunity PAC.

The complaint alleged the group, which is linked to the Democratic Governors Association, failed to properly file a report with the Missouri Ethics Commission and, as an out-of-state committee, illegally gave Koster money within 30 days of the Aug. 2 primary

The ethics commission said the contributions did not run afoul of state law.

In the earlier Greitens cases, regulators dismissed complaints involving nearly $3 million that went toward his Aug. 2 victory over three GOP challengers.

The decisions came as the two candidates were stumping for votes.

Koster spent Thursday on a tour of southern Missouri, with stops scheduled in West Plains, Doniphan and Sikeston.

Greitens appeared on Fox News to criticize the Clinton Foundation, which has contributed money to The Mission continues, an organization Greitens helped found.
