LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. – Two children died Wednesday afternoon from electrocution while swimming near a private dock at the 6.5MM of the Gravois Arm.

Several adults were able to remove the children from the water and performed cardio pulmonary resuscitation before emergency responders arrived.

Alexandra Anderson, 13, and her brother Brayden Anderson, 8, both of Ashland, Mo., were pronounced dead at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, Mo.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, "A preliminary investigation indicated an improperly grounded electrical circuit to the dock, which was not ground-fault protected, was a contributing factor in the deaths.  An autopsy will be performed on each victim to determine the cause of death."

The investigation is being conducted by troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol Marine Operations Division and the Division of Drug and Crime Control.
