MORGAN COUNTY, Mo. — A 19-year-old from Gravois Mills was seriously injured after falling off the roof of an SUV in the early hours of Sunday morning.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 20-year-old Jared Wright, of Stover, was driving a 2005 Chevy Tahoe south on Route T, near Campbell Drive, just before 3:45 a.m. The Patrol says 19-year-old Sequoia Torres climbed onto the roof of the SUV while it was still moving and then fell off and landed in the road. The SUV then crashed into a ditch off the right side of the road.
Torres sustained serious injuries and was flown by Staff for Life helicopter to University Hospital. Wright had minor injuries, the Patrol reported, and sought his own medical treatment.
