CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. — Two people were hospitalized after a crash on Highway 54, Monday morning. Police say ice on the road is to blame.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 72-year-old Rex Rendleman, of Climax Springs, was driving a Ford Ranger south on Highway 54 when he hit a patch of ice on the Niangua Bridge.
Rendleman lost control of the truck and it careened into the path of an oncoming minivan driven by 28-year-old Rebecca Groebl, of Springfield. The minivan struck the back of the truck, and both vehicles were totaled in the crash.
Both Rendleman and Groebl sustained moderate injuries, the MSHP reported, and were taken by EMS to Lake Regional Hospital.
