LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — A powerboat racer who fled from Water Patrol troopers during a chase on Lake of the Ozarks last summer has been sentenced.
Loren Peters pleaded guilty to felony resisting arrest and was sentenced to five years of supervised probation.
Peters also pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges: boating while intoxicated and nonregistration of a vessel. He was fined $500 for the BWI charge and $200 for the registration charge, plus court costs.
The charges stemmed from a July 12, 2025, incident, when the Water Patrol encountered Peters while responding to a report that he had thrown a woman overboard near the 11 Mile Marker. Authorities said Peters sped away from troopers, eventually docking his boat on the Gravois Arm and fleeing on foot before he was arrested.
Peters was ultimately charged with five offenses; no assault charge was filed.
