LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — Forced by a downpour Friday, Bagnell Dam operators took emergency action opening floodgates at 11 p.m. to reduce the Lake level.

Floodgates released water at 50,000 cubic feet per second immediately raising the Osage River four feet. The Osage is up seven feet from Friday morning to before sunrise Saturday.

The Lake’s water level measured just below full pool at 659.06 at 5 a.m., Saturday, as rain turns to freezing rain predicted to become snow as the temperature drops throughout the day. The forecast predicts snow tapering off around 5 p.m. with low temperatures of 16F.

Highs Sunday are expected above 40F before beginning the workweek Monday and Tuesday with unseasonably warm highs over 50F.
