LAKE OZARK, Mo. — A major rock collapse has closed one lane of traffic on Highway 242.
The rock collapse was triggered by demolition taking place on a property alongside the highway. The rubble extended across both lanes of westbound traffic (heading into Lake Ozark).
Lake Ozark Police have partially closed westbound traffic as machinery from the demolition site clears the rocks. Police are periodically allowing westbound traffic through. Eastbound traffic is not impacted by the rubble.
Meanwhile, Bagnell Dam bridge is closed this week for the final phase of the bridge's major rehabilitation project, so the only unobstructed way into Lake Ozark for the rest of Monday afternoon will be via Bagnell Dam Blvd., where it intersects Osage Beach Pkwy.
Cleanup was expected to be complete sometime Monday late-afternoon or evening.
