"We're always looking for ways to make life at the Lake better," Bryan said. "I grew up here, out on the water long before I ever worked in the marine industry. The Lake has always been a special place to me."

During his years of working in the marine industry, Bryan was very familiar with the Lake’s bug problem. And while periodic dock treatments can help, he thought, there had to be a better way.

Automated misting systems have proven their worth in other parts of the country, but they’re still relatively new to the Lake of the Ozarks. Having a misting system that kills and repels pests when needed gives homeowners more control.

Using a smartphone app (where WiFi is available or with a range extender), customers decide exactly when the system operates. If homeowners know they'll be at the Lake this weekend, they can run the misting system in the early morning hours before they get there. The custom-installed system surrounds outdoor spaces with strategically placed misting nozzles that disperse a plant oil-based formula made with thyme and rosemary oils rather than synthetic pesticides.

Because the active ingredients qualify as a minimum-risk pesticide under EPA FIFRA 25(b) regulations, the formula offers homeowners an alternative to traditional synthetic pesticide applications.

"It's designed specifically for the places where people spend time, especially outdoor entertaining areas,” Bryan said. “We’re not a landscape pest control company. We focus where people hang out the most, like on docks, decks, patios and around the boat.”

Cooling Mister
