LAKE OZARK, Mo. — Plans to build an ALDI discount supermarket in Lake Ozark have come to a standstill.

It was announced in the spring of 2018 that ALDI was planning on building 400 new locations across the United States, with one at Eagles Landing. However, ALDI Division Vice President, Rob Jeffries, recently told LakeExpo.com, "At this time, we do not have any solidified plans for a store in Lake Ozark."

Lake Ozark City Administrator Dave Van Dee explained the last information he received in regards to ALDI coming to Lake Ozark was from an engineer who simply told him that was is a delay in the project. Van Dee said everything is squared away on the City of Lake Ozark's end, but noted ultimately, the ALDI corporation is in control and makes the decisions about where they want to build.

However, there is still a chance the project could resume. ALDI expects to have as many as 2,500 locations across the U.S. by 2022. An official spokesperson from ALDI told LakeExpo.com they will update with any new information they receive.
