JEFFERSON CITY - The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work around the lake area and mid-Missouri for the week of August 2 - 6, 2010.

Camden County

Daylight Hours

Route 54 between Mace Road near the Camden/Miller County line and the Grand Glaize Bridge in Osage Beach - Grading, paving and new bridge construction.

* Grading for the Osage Beach Parkway South northern tie-in to the existing Route 54 continues.

* Asphalt paving for the new Route 54 Expressway, Osage Beach Parkway South, ramps and shoulders will resume.

* Eastbound traffic has been switched onto the existing westbound bridge on Route 54 between Route 42 and Bluff Road with two 10-foot lanes in each direction. This traffic configuration will remain in place through summer 2010.

* Traffic on Bluff Road is being detoured to Route 54 through Osage Beach Parkway South and Fort Osage Lane to allow for the construction of the new Bluff Road. Detour signs are in place.

The entire project is scheduled to be complete by fall 2010.

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 54 between the Grand Glaize Bridge to west of Route KK in Osage Beach - Grading, drainage work, paving and bridges for the new Route 54 Expressway.

* Case Road and Broadwater Road traffic is being detoured onto Oak Road during construction of the new Case Road and Service Road, which is nearing completion.

* Work on the Jeffries Road/Route 54 overpass is nearing completion.

* Grading continues from Nichols Road to Case Road.

* Grading continues from west of Route KK to El Terra Lane.

* El Terra Lane is scheduled to close permanently to traffic on Tuesday, August 3.

* Drainage, erosion control and grading takes place from Nichols Road to Route KK.

Minor traffic delays can be expected. This portion of the project is scheduled for completion in summer 2011.

Route 5, one mile north of Route F to Route F in Sunrise Beach - Widening of lanes and new center turn lane continues.

* Asphalt paving has been completed.

* Guardrail installation and roadway striping continues.

Minor traffic delays can be expected and crews will flag traffic through the work area. This project is scheduled to be complete in late summer 2010.

Miller County

Daylight Hours

Route 54 between the Osage River Bridge in Lake Ozark and Mace Road near the Camden/Miller County line in Osage Beach - Construction for the new Route 54 Expressway.

* Westbound traffic has been reduced to one lane between the Osage River Bridge and Business Route 54 near the Baymont Inn. Both eastbound lanes will remain open, but have been shifted over to allow for the construction of the tie-in connection between the new expressway and the existing highway. The speed limit in this section has been reduced to 45 mph. This traffic configuration will remain in place throughout the summer.

* Construction on the Horseshoe Bend Extension overpass bridge has been completed.

* Installation of guard rail, signing and lighting on the new Route 54 Expressway continues.

This portion of the project is expected to be complete in fall 2010.

Route 17 at the Osage River Bridge - Bridge replacement is nearing completion. Route 17 will be closed at the Osage River beginning Thursday, August 12 at 8 a.m. Crews will begin constructing connections to the new Osage River Bridge approaches. This work will take four days to complete and Route 17 at the Osage River will remain closed during that time. Traffic will be detoured on Routes 17, C, 42, 54 and 52. Message boards will be set up alerting motorists to the closure and detour. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for Monday, August 16 at 10 a.m. The new bridge will open to traffic following the ceremony.

Route K between Route 17 and the end of state maintenance - Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, August 3 and Wednesday, August 4. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Morgan County

Daylight Hours

Route MM between Route 5 and end of state maintenance - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 2 through Thursday, August 5. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route JJ bridge over the Richland Creek, approximately two miles west of Route D - Bridge replacement continues through early September. The bridge is closed to traffic during construction. Traffic on Route JJ is being detoured around the work area on Routes D, 50 and 135. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Benton County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 65 over the Lake of the Ozarks, just north of Route 83 in Warsaw - Bridge deck repair continues. Temporary traffic lights are set up in the work area to assist with traffic control. Lanes have been narrowed to 10.5 feet. Completion of the project is scheduled for fall 2010.

Route 65, 1.75 miles south of Route HH to north of Route H in Lincoln - Grading and drainage work to widen the highway to five lanes continues. Lanes have been narrowed to 10.5 feet. One lane may be closed during the work and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The entire project is scheduled to be complete in fall 2010.

Route 65 from south of Route 52 to just north of the Osage River in Warsaw - Widening highway to four lanes continues. Traffic is not affected at this time. The project is scheduled to be complete in summer 2012.

Route 83 at the Big Pomme Bridge over the Truman Reservoir - Bridge deck repair continues. Temporary traffic lights are set up in the work area to assist with traffic control. Lanes have been narrowed to 11 feet. Completion of the project is scheduled for fall 2010.

Route 7 over the Osage Arm of the Truman Reservoir, located east of Route KK - Bridge deck repair continues. Temporary traffic lights are set up in the work area to assist with traffic control. Lanes have been narrowed to 11 feet. Completion of the project is scheduled for fall 2010.

Route JJ between Route U and Route A - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 2 through Friday, August 6. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Benton and Morgan Counties

Daylight Hours

Route 52 between Cole Camp and the city limits of Versailles - Roadway resurfacing and shoulder work continues through late summer.

* The contractor has finished main line paving, and will work on shoulders and driveway entrances. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Callaway County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Business Route 54 at Route O (Second Street) in Fulton - Construction of a new roundabout continues. There are two phases to the project. During phase one, Business Route 54 south of Route O, and Route O east of Business 54, will be closed to traffic while a concrete box culvert is constructed. Phase one closure will take approximately two months. Traffic will be detoured. Access to area businesses remains available. The entire project is scheduled to be complete in mid-December.

Cole County

Daylight Hours

Routes J, M, Y, and W - Roadway maintenance will take place in various locations along these routes during the week of August 2. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work areas.

Route AA, just south of Route C at Tellman Road - Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Friday, August 6. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area. Route AA may be closed to traffic for brief periods during the work.

Daylight Hours/Overnight Hours

Route 50, Missouri Boulevard and Route 179 interchange improvements - Realigning Missouri Boulevard at the U.S. Route 50 and Route 179 interchange in Jefferson City. Plans include constructing additional turn lanes at various locations within the interchange area.

* Traffic on Missouri Boulevard has been shifted to the new overpass at Route 179. There is no connection between Route 179 and Missouri Boulevard until late summer 2010.

* Additional lane reductions and temporary closures can be expected on Route 179 between Missouri Boulevard and Country Club Drive, including all ramps at the Route 50/Route 179 interchange.

This project is expected to be complete in fall 2010.

Cole and Callaway Counties

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 54 Eastbound/Route 63 Northbound at the Missouri River Bridge - Construction of a pedestrian/bicycle bridge attachment continues.

* Work is underway on a ramp structure on the north side of the river.

* The following changes are now in place until spring 2011:

- The Main Street on ramp to the bridge is closed.

- Lanes leading up to and crossing the bridge are narrowed. Motorists will cross the bridge using three 11 ft. lanes.

- A concrete barrier is installed across the bridge to separate lanes of traffic from the construction crews and equipment.

- The shoulder of the bridge, which also currently serves as a pedestrian path, is closed. Pedestrians should also note that no shoulder is available on the U.S. Route 54 westbound/U.S. Route 63 southbound bridge leading into Jefferson City.

- The speed limit is reduced from 60 mph to 45 mph through the area.

The project is expected to be complete in late spring 2011.

Cooper County

Daylight Hours

Interstate 70 between Route 135 and Route M - Roadway maintenance will take place in the westbound lanes on Monday, August 2. One westbound lane will be open in the work area.

Gasconade County

Daylight Hours

Route B between Route 28 and the Phelps County line - Roadway maintenance will take place on Tuesday, August 3. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route E between Route 19 and Route H - Roadway maintenance will take place Wednesday, August 4 and Thursday, August 5. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route H between Route 19 and Route Z - Roadway maintenance will take place on Friday, August 6. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route EE between Route 28 and the Crawford County line - Roadway maintenance will take place on Monday, August 2. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Maries County

Daylight Hours

Route AA between Route 63 and Route T - Roadway maintenance will take place Wednesday, August 4 and Thursday, August 5. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Osage County

Daylight Hours

Route 133 between Route 63 and Route B - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 2 and Tuesday, August 3. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route C between Route A and County Road 431 - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 2 and Tuesday, August 3. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route A between Route 50 and Route C - Roadway maintenance will take place on Wednesday, August 4. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Pettis County

Daylight Hours

Route 50 between the Sedalia city limits and the Morgan County line - Concrete replacement will take place Monday August 2 through Thursday, August 5. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 65 between Route B and Route F - Concrete replacement will take place Thursday, August 5 and Friday, August 6. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 65 north of Route HH at Cedar Creek Bridge and

Route 65 south of Route CC at Heaths Creek Bridge -

* Bridge deck replacement on the northbound and southbound Heaths Creek Bridges has been completed. One lane on each bridge will be closed while the bridges are being painted.

* Southbound Cedar Creek Bridge is closed to traffic for bridge deck replacement. Traffic has been shifted to the northbound side of the Cedar Creek Bridge.

The entire project is scheduled to be complete late summer. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Route N between Route J and end of state maintenance - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 2 through Thursday, August 5. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 127 Bridges over Muddy Creek, approximately six miles south of Route 50 - Bridge replacement work has been completed. The bridges opened to traffic on Thursday, July 29. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Route 127 bridge over Bear Branch, approximately two miles north of Route 50 - Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic during construction through mid September. Traffic on Route 127 is being detoured around the work area on Routes D and NN. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.
