Lake Ozark municipal candidate filings have closed and former mayor Johnnie Franzeskos is giving it another run.

Franzeskos was mayor for 12 years, and then lost to Gerry Murawski in 2019. Franzeskos mustered another run against Murawski for the 2021 mayoral race, but following a Lake Expo exposé about Murawski, Dennis Newberry entered the race as a write-in candidate and won by a landslide. In that election, Murawski received 23% of the vote, Franzeskos received 22%, and Newberry received 51% of votes.
