LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — Voters granted the Camdenton R-III school district its sought-after bond issue on Tuesday, and replaced one member of the district’s board of education.
The Camdenton R-III issue was a “No Tax Increase” bond, which will now allow the district to move 11 cents of the current levy from the capital projects fund to the debt service fund. The move will open up $43 million in funds, permitting the district to build a new Osage Beach Elementary School, remodel Hurricane Deck Elementary School, add security upgrades to the existing schools, and refinance $8 million of its debt.
Voters also decided to keep Nancy Masterson on the Board of Education, but removed Jim Besancenez from the board and instead voted in Tom Williams.
